The Cambodian American Student Association's mission is to promote, educate, and celebrate Khmer/Cambodian culture, language, & history to the community within UMass Lowell, to the communities within the City of Lowell, and communities outside of the city. Also, the organization hopes to encourage open forums for discussion of Cambodia's arts, history, and people. Additionally, members will strive extensively to integrate their knowledge of Cambodia within the western culture while seeking to further understand the roots of their ancestors. Not only is CASA a proud UMass Lowell representative on-campus, CASA acts as a student representative to the Khmer Community in Lowell, MA; the second largest Cambodian-American population demographic within the entire nation. CASA's mission is to spread knowledge and awareness, advocate Cambodian culture and empowerment, and provide a welcoming and inclusive campus environment for students to actively contribute to the UMass Lowell campus community and the community-at-large.

The Catholic Campus Ministry/Catholic Student Union is based in University Crossing 380. On-campus Sunday Mass is at 7:00 PM in Moloney Hall, University Crossing during the Fall and Spring semesters. Confessions are heard during the hour before Mass with the Rosary beginning thirty minutes before Mass starts.

The UMass Lowell Student Chapter of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) was established in 2016 to promote education and engagement in trenchless technologies. Students have had the opportunity to visit local construction sites, such as the second phase of the Lowell Highschool project and the Moles Student Day Tour.

The Society of Environmental Scientists (SES) at UMass Lowell is a group of like-minded students focused on environmental, geological, and atmospheric affairs.  SES members share a common goal of enhancing their academic studies through collaboration with professional groups and their peers.

- SES enhances student understanding of geological and environmental sciences through field excursions, which explore local geology and ecology.  SES also provides financial resources for members to attend scientific conferences.
- SES leads through advocacy by participating in outreach programs with local schools to complement science education. 
- SES gives back to the community through volunteer work throughout New England.  This includes the monitoring and certification of vernal pools, water quality testing in the Merrimack River Watershed, and restoring the wildlife habitats of local endangered species.
- SES expands the skill set of its members by taking part in trail-building efforts at the Wachusett Mountain State Reservation in collaboration with the Appalachian Mountain Club and by organizing frequent rock and mountain climbing trips.

We hold outdoor volunteering events throughout the year, including city clean-ups and collaborations with local farms. Some meetings feature sustainable crafts, often to highlight sustainability projects at UML.

One of our primary goals is to provide every member with the opportunity to learn how to use the Schueller Observatory, whether for personal enjoyment or research purposes. Workshops are another benefit that we will be trying to offer our members in partnership with the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston, such as How to Do Astrophotography or How to Make Your Own Telescope. We also want to organize public events in which our membership can participate, such as Star Parties or other fun events. Of course, there will also be more chill fun activities, such as watching space-themed movies. Basically, anything astronomy or space-themed, we will be looking at it!
