The purpose of UGiC is to create networking and social opportunities for graduate students in the computer science department. Additionally, this club will serve as a “landing point” for incoming graduate students to get familiar with the UML campus, faculty and the computer science community. We are planning to organize board game nights, course assistance and housing assistance events, student research presentations and guest speaker presentations, amongst other social gatherings for graduate computer science students providing a variety of benefits from networking and public speaking practice to industry and job seeking advice.

Membership in this club shall be open to all graduate University of Massachusetts Lowell students. To be a voting member of the UGiC, you must be registered with UGiC and attend at least one meeting. Other members such as undergraduate students at the University may be affiliated with the clubs as non-voting members but may not serve as officers in a graduate organization.

We are the student chapter of a professional organization driven to connect industry professional in relevant fields. The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE®) is a global professional member society that provides enhanced educational opportunities, by delivering information on new and advanced materials and processing technology. SAMPE provides growth and educational opportunities via conferences, exhibitions, technical forums, and publications. As the only technical society encompassing all fields of endeavor in materials and processes, SAMPE provides a unique and valuable forum for scientists, engineers, and academicians. SAMPE North America is a regional subsidiary of SAMPE that serves Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
